2012 in Review

I can honestly say Seek Joy really took off in 2012. ?I joined Upstate Parent magazine as a cover photographer with 5 covers for the year–what a great experience! ?I was blessed by meeting so many new little ones and had a great time with some big kids too! ?2012 Wedding Season was filled with excitement, emotion, and the opportunity to witness some beautiful beginnings of marriage. ?I was even asked to assist Kim DeLoach and Lisa Carpenter–what an honor! ?So in honor of 2012 here are just a few of my favorite images (it was very hard to choose!) ? Enjoy 🙂

Carolynne Pepper has had the most comments on her blog posts this past year. ?Can you blame her? ?I love getting to see her every three months for her 1 year baby bundle package! ?Such a sweetheart.

Check out this sweet little girl, Reagan Mary. ?Her mother is an amazing teacher (who I dearly miss working with at Grove!) ?She will be turning one soon!

Oh cute Bella, how I wish you lived closer! ?This is my cousin’s first born and she is a doll. ?I loved setting up this vintage scene in our grandparent’s yard this past summer. ?What memories I have playing in this same grass and picking blueberries with my grandmother here.

I wanted to do a rugged, urban themed shoot this year and these three guys were a perfect fit! ?Boys Rock!

This is “little Katie” according to my sister. ?Emma is my sister’s youngest and is similar to me in many ways–including ballet.

Many of you have followed this family’s blog this past year. ?From Tears to triumpth, this family has grown in so many ways. ?What a great blessing to capture them in their “normal” life again as they welcomed baby Jude back home. ? Glad to have you back Morrison Family!

I love keeping maternity pictures stylish and Molly could really rock some boots! ?I cannot wait to meet her little one in a few weeks–boy or girl? ?We shall see!

Speaking of newborns–what a great year for meeting many new babies–all so cuddly and precious! ?I am pretty sure all of them peed on me too (haha)!

I adore this little girl. ?She launched my covers with Upstate parent this year and this is still probably my favorite one!

I was asked to be a part of some great events this year as well! ?Thanks to Homes of Hope for letting me join you in your 2 annual fundraisers this year.

Below is one from Downtown Pres’ Party for our Pastor, Brian Habig, upon his return from a?sabbatical. ?This blog post had the most hits in 2012. ?Brian is a pretty popular guy!

I also met Betty Farr! ?What an amazing woman. ?I hope to be as active in the community as she is when I am older. ?She can throw a great Halloween party for sure.

Let’s Switch to Weddings. ?It was really hard to choose my favorites from the weddings this year. ?I loved getting to know each of the couples and loved something different about each one of them. ?My assistant and I gave superlatives to each wedding this year…so let’s share!

Most Relaxed Bride Goes to Catie Buckingham. ?Her intimate wedding was such a sweet time. ?I loved working with this couple!

Most Photogenic goes to Elisa and Daniel Langdale. ?They naturally posed themselves (makes my job easy!) and they were up for anything from a 20s style?engagement?shoot to a farm bridal session. ?There peacock themed wedding was also picked up on another blog this year–how exciting! ?I am glad they have returned to the upstate!

Most fun bridal party goes to Melissa and Andy Durst’s crew. ?These two were a blast to work with as they have such fun spirits about them.

Wedding Dearest to my Heart this year was Jackie and Julian Conrad. ?Julian is in the military and they knew he would be deployed soon after their wedding. ?I shared tears and laughter with this bride during the planning process and could feel such warmth and love from their friends and family at their wedding. ?They are also expecting their first baby soon and I cannot wait to meet her!

Most Glamorous Couple–Kristin and Ryan Davis. ?We had a great time with them in Augusta Ga for their wedding. ?I absolutely loved Kristin’s bridal portraits and felt the need to share those instead. ?I also love Ryan’s portrait from the wedding day as well. ?These two know how to party while looking great!

The next two are from a wedding with Kim DeLoach. ?What a fun experience to just relax and enjoy shooting with an amazing photographer and sweet couple.

Kelsi and Josh, how I adore them. ?We laughed more than anything else on their engagement shoot. ?Her wedding was perfect, even the rain! ?All things vintage at this wedding-I could?hardly?contain my excitement with the details. ?Credit to her father for building the amazing arbor!

I am a huge fan of Lisa Carpenter. ?I am pretty sure I squealed when I got off the phone with her when she asked me to second shoot this shabby chic wedding. ?Here is one of my favorites from the rooftop!

Last wedding of the year was just a few days before New Years. In fact, I am still working on the editing for this wedding. ?Courtney and Curt are just plain lovable?and down to earth. ?Courtney heeded my advice when discussing her timeline which led to some amazing images as we built time in to create them. ?Overall favorite wedding images goes to this couple–more from their wedding soon to come. ?You will not be disappointed.

What better way to end this year in review blog: celebration and joy!

Thanks to all my families, brides, and friends at Greenville News for a wonderful year!
