Frazier Family|Greenville SC Child and Family Photographer

The Frazier Family has become one of my dearest clients.  I have been  blessed to be a part of their family and photographing them since their twin boys turned 2.  I was excited to capture their family portraits this fall.  Sweet Carolynne decided to not take a nap that day, Owen found picking his nose to be of utmost importance and Charlie was the cooperative twin that day…and I loved every moment.  Their children are precious to me and I love that they are comfortable enough to be themselves around me.  We captured a few formal family portraits at McPherson Park and then headed to the playground for some lifestyle shots.  Thanks so much Donna and Will for sharing your lives with me!

Pretty Place Chapel Wedding|Michael and Dianne

Dianne contacted me after seeing images I shot for her friend’s wedding (Thanks Elisa and Daniel for the referral!).  One of the first things she asked me during our phone consultation was, “Do you mind kids in the wedding?”  She then went on to let me know she had many nieces and nephews–she wanted to have them all in her wedding party.  (Be sure to count the number of children in this wedding:))  I knew Dianne would be a laid back bride if she was willing to have this many children in the wedding as most brides are hesitant to have 1-2 older children in their wedding.  I also knew this would be one of my favorite weddings and it did not disappoint.  This was a family only style wedding.  I must say this is one beautiful family–and I loved all the stylish outfits.  Dianne had the perfect amount of vintage and sparkle decor.  Her details were amazing!

These two love birds were wed at Pretty Place Chapel locating at Camp YMCA in Cleveland SC.  Their reception followed at a nearby country club towards Hendersonville, NC.  This was by far the most shocking cake cutting event I have witnessed at a wedding but all was well by the end of the evening:) Thank you Dallas Pace for second shooting this wedding with me:)

Congrats you two as you start your new life together!

What to Wear for Fall Family Portraits|Greenville SC Portrait Photographer

The leaves are starting to change and the air is getting cooler.  Thoughts of bon fires and hot tea come to mind as we enter this fall season.  This is also the season of fall family portraits.  One of the first questions I am asked is, “What should we wear?” I am so glad you asked!  Let’s start with what NOT to wear:

1. Matching outfits (i.e. everyone in khaki pants and white shirts or all in red shirts).  This 90′s trend is gone.  It’s boring.

2. Tennis Shoes–there is nothing like old tennis shoes on kids or adults that can ruin the entire look of a family portrait.

3. Shirts with logos, characters, or distracting pictures on them–it’s a bad idea!

What should you wear for your Fall family photos to make everyone look their best and still keep a timeless look?

1. Choose a color scheme–neutrals work best.

2.  Choose a pop of color with accessories.

3. Combine colors and patterns for interest.

4. Layers–always a great look.

5. Most importantly, wear something that is flattering.
